A weather balloon has been trapped in an electrical wire and your company has been commissioned to build a robot to release it.  

Student Summary: 

A weather balloon was released and was caught in overhead wires. Your company has been commissioned to build a robot and program it to knock the weather balloon loose. You need to program your EV3 to travel the correct distance based on wheel rotation distance. You need to show your formula, the code you wrote for EV3, capture you engineering the right tool to attach to your EV3, you measuring the distance and knocking the weather balloon loose.

We engineered an arm that will pick the balloon free from the wire using LEGO parts.

It took us many attempts but we had success! We attached a GoPro to the EV3 to capture the release. Each team calculated the distance based on wheel rotations.
